My Quilt Festival Entry

It took me a while to decide whether any of my quilts are worth entering in Park City Girl's Fall Quilt Festival, then I thought of the quilt we made for my grandmother.  She LOVES elephants and has a huge collection.  I spotted an elephant panel at the Sewing Expo in Worcester, MA back in 2007.  I got Mom and my 3 sisters involved.  Each of us added borders, embellishements and quilted a panel, signed our name on it then Mom sashed and put it all together.  It came out great, and 2 of my sisters don't quilt, (or sew for that matter!)

We presented it to her at her annual Christmas party that year.  All of her grandchildren are spread out between Vermont and Massachusetts so we all get together for "Grammie's Christmas".  She was blown away.

Here is Grammie with her quilt:

There are so many quilts to see at this festival!  Click on the button at right to see hundreds of quilts.  I can only look at a few at a time or nothing would get done around here!

OK, look at a couple more then back to housework....

Until Next Time,

Lisa

  3. I recently made a quilt for my grandma too and she loved it so much (and was so surprised) that it made me wonder why it took me so long! I'm glad your grandma loved hers. So great!

  4. I'm the same - I get to look at 5 quilts at a time, then it's back to work. But I love the idea of using a big print like this. Now I'm thinking......
