First of all, Congratulations to the Boston Bruins! I was born and raised here in MA and have always enjoyed watching and especially attending the games. I remember my Dad yelling at the TV when I was little!
I didn't sign up for this month's Friday Night Sew-In since we originally had plans last night. Plans changed and I found myself with an evening with "nothing" to do. (Yay!) I've had a Kate Spain Verna Jelly Roll for a while now. I bought it because I loved the colors but didn't have a plan for it. Here's what I've made so far:
A pair of large hot pads came of my experiment with the tube quilting method I found on Missouri Star Quilt Company's blog. You can read my previous post about them here.
I suffer from insomnia which turns out to be productive sometimes. I got up early one Saturday with an idea for a table runner. I cut the strips into random lengths and "threw" them together. I am happy with the results. Very springy.
So now I still have a bunch of strips left over from the same Jelly Roll. I love being able to stretch it this far! I started out with an idea for placemats but when I cut the blocks I didn't see placemats, but a lap quilt. So now this project is a "Placemats-Turned-Lap-Quilt". Here's what I have cut so far:
I'm lovin' 'em
OK, so now the real reason you are reading my post, Judi at Green Fairy Quilts is giving away a Riley Blake Holly Jolly Fat Quarter Bundle! It's never too early to start a Christmas project. Not only that, she is having a 25% off Fat Quarter Bundle Sale! There's lots to see over there so check it out and don't forget to see the pre-cuts she has coming in October, which, by the way, you can pre-order.
Now back to my Jelly Roll.
Until Next Time,
